Student Activities, Involvement & Leadership

From A Capella to WDOM, and everything in between. Hone your diplomatic skills in Student Congress, explore the organizations of Board of Multicultural Student Affairs (BMSA), join a pre-professional society, catch live music at McPhail’s, or take advantage of one of our many service opportunities!

The Office of Student Activities, Involvement & Leadership (SAIL) provides support to over 120 clubs and organizations, designs and executes a robust and vibrant calendar of educational and social events, and cultivates a sense of school spirit and campus pride. Whatever your curiosity or passion, our student organizations provide opportunities to meet and make new friends, explore new interests, and develop leadership skills.

In addition to academic year programming, SAIL leads the Urban Action pre-arrival program, an experience designed to increase students’ understanding of urban issues while also introducing them to the Providence community. Through UA, students spend three days volunteering at local sites in the city of Providence, and one day volunteering on campus helping fellow classmates move in.

Activities

  • The SAIL Office promotes the development of community through co-curricular activities that engage, entertain, and educate our students. In addition to supporting student club and organization programs, the SAIL Office leads the planning of signature campus-wide events, including the Fall and Spring Involvement Fairs, Senior Ring Weekend, the Cultural Holiday Marketplace and Senior Week. We are committed to offering programming that supports and cultivates student growth and engages students in experiences that foster inclusion and mutual respect. Check out our events calendar here!

Involvement

  • The SAIL Office provides advising and administrative guidance to more than 120 student clubs & organizations. Through involvement and participation in clubs and organizations, students build friendships, explore interests, and discover their passions! Our diverse offering of organizations and programs provide students the opportunity to find community, experience belonging, take part in new experiences, and build relationships across difference. Learn more about our clubs & organizations here.

Leadership

  • There are a range of progressive leadership opportunities available to students who are members of clubs and organizations. Whether as a general member, part of committee planning team, or in an executive board position, students learn a lot about being a leader from their experience! From running a meeting to planning an event to advocating for funding, students develop and refine communication, collaboration, conflict resolution, time management and budgeting skills. And all this while having fun and contributing to the vibrant Friartown community!
