Admissions Ambassadors

Founded in 1991, the Admissions Ambassadors Program assists the Admissions Office in representing PC to prospective students. Ambassadors reach out to prospective students and parents during the admissions process by sharing their experiences and impressions of the PC Community.

Best Buddies

Best Buddies® is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Founded in 1989 by Anthony K. Shriver, Best Buddies is a vibrant, international organization that has grown from one original chapter to almost 1,700 middle school, high school, and college chapters worldwide. Best Buddies programs engage participants in each of the 50 United States, and in 50 countries around the world.

Friars Club

The Friars Club of Providence College, established in 1928, is one of the oldest clubs and organizations at Providence College. In the spirit of hospitality and service, the members of the Friars Club act as representatives of Providence College at various campus events such as campus tours, sports events, Alumni and Parents’ Weekends.  To learn more about Friars Club, visit the Dean of Students’ site.

Friars For

Friars for ______ is a fundraising club on campus where students have the space and opportunity to fill in the blank with a cause that is meaningful to them and raise funds and awareness for that same cause. Each semester, we fill in the blank with a different cause and focus on raise funds for it. In the past, we’ve done Friars for Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and Australia. To date, we’ve raised over $10,000 among all causes.

PC Pals

Providence College Pals is a program that creates relationships between PC students and local school children between the ages of eight and twelve. Currently, there are four after-school programs participating. The program’s activities include individual and group time as well as field trips.

Student Alumni Association

The Student Alumni Association strives to facilitate an active relationship between students and alumni with a sense of pride, loyalty, and tradition.  Members increase student awareness of the PC National Alumni Association through services, programming, and special events. The Student Alumni Association also enhances the education of students and prepares them to serve as future alumni leaders and volunteers.  Learn more on the Alumni website.

Urban Action

Urban Action is a group of students dedicated to improving the Providence community beyond the borders of the Providence College campus. Students help those less fortunate than themselves build houses, and in the process, build friendships. Urban Action runs a special program for incoming freshmen, as well as year round activities for all interested students.
